21For the purpose of computing the amount of the annual salary payable to the Speaker under section 20 and for all other purposes, a member who is elected to the office of Speaker shall be deemed to be the Speaker from the day of election to that office until the earliest of the following days, both days inclusive:
(a)
whether before or after the Legislative Assembly is dissolved, the day before the day on which a member is next elected to that office by the Legislative Assembly;
(b)
before the Legislative Assembly is dissolved, the day that the holder of the office
(i)
dies,
(ii)
resigns from the office, or
(iii)
otherwise ceases to hold the office for any reason; and
(c)
after the Legislative Assembly is dissolved, the day that the holder of the office
